I've long used play count in i Tunes on Mac and Windows laptops and desktops to track what I listen to most and compare how quickly new music bubbles to the top and what artists and songs reliably stay at the top of my choices to play.
Since buying an i Phone last year, it has been greatly freeing to no longer be tethered to my computer while listening but it has been frustrating to lose visibility to how many times I've played songs, other than through relative comparisons in play count-based playlists.
No problem, with Song Data you can consult this and more information from your songs, including comments, and album art.
There are 26 smart playlists (Smart Playlist A-Z) which you can use and name as you wish. Please use landscape mode to see longer titles etc.
In each Smart Playlist you can combine more than 20 search rules to filter and sort your i Tunes music library. Available search criteria:● Text search: Genre, Grouping, Composer, Artist, Album-Artist, Album, Title, Comments, Lyrics and/or i Tunes-Playlist Search for exact matches („is equal to“), for any partial matches („contains“) or use wildcards („is like“ ? Use logical operators to unite (" OR “), intersect (" AND “) or exclude (“ NOT “) certain songs Example: The rule "Genre contains blu OR zz" will give you all your blues and jazz songs in 1 playlist.● Numerical search: Rating, Play Count, Skip Count, Duration, Track Number, BPM and/or Year.● Date search: Added, Last Played, Last Skipped, Released (how many days, weeks, months or years ago)You can search for values less than, equal to / from-to (=) or more than the limit you set● Property search: is in compilation, is in i Cloud, is music video (all/yes/no)The titles loaded in Smart Playlist also become the playback queue of the Music app and the now playing title is also shown in the lock screen and the control center, where you can play/pause, fast-forward, skip, etc. what search rules you want to use and what info you want to see in the list of titles.
I have not run into any of these issues on my touch which is pretty much running the same software.
Well, I synced yesterday and it updated the play counts.
Assuming you have it set to auto-sync there have been reports of some issues effecting the playback histories being synced back to i Tunes with i Pod touchs.
Although any I read where multiple playcounts recorded for one playcount.Do you ever want to know how many times you played the song you're listening on your i Pod or i Phone?Would you like to know the last time you heard it or any other information that you see in i Tunes, but is not available in your device? In the comments you’ll see it works with Windows 7, 8 and 10 with i Tunes 12 .
