Where was this mother's effort to earn money in a meaningful way. I thought this was supposed to be about a strong mother?
The film combines elements of faith, country music, and stock car racing while paying tribute to those who serve in the United States Military.
Johnathan is a nine-year-old boy who loves sea monsters, and his 300 lb. Unlike most kids, Johnathan has nystagmus, which makes his eyes "flutter." He also suffers from severe narrow angle glaucoma; an acute condition that if untreated can lead to permanent blindness.
I found on a few occasions a "weird for weird's sake" ethos creeping into the film without having any underlying concept or logic the way David Lynch would demand of himself.

Ell keeps Bones off of her social media feeds and they walk red carpets separately.
God Bless the Broken Road tells the story of a young mother who loses her husband in Afghanistan and struggles to raise their young daughter in his absence.
I think Reeder was testing the Comedy = Tragedy Time theory! If you are looking for some basic low budget horror film this is not it (it does have some strange blood and guts type stuff but I wouldn't say this is a horror film at all).
Country singer Lindsay Ell was in the car with her manager on the way back from a dinner with radio executives last week when he broke the news: Sacramento’s KNCI (105.1 FM) had removed her from a multi-artist concert the next day because she’s dating someone who works for a competing media company -- popular radio personality Bobby Bones.
Less open minded genre fans might have qualms with the movie's equal emphasis on Road Movie, Horror Film, and Western - so if you're looking for just one genre, you might not care for it.
