I've notice an issue - it feels like a bug but I suspect a 'feature' - in SSMS in SQL Server 2008.
I have various tabs open, for example an alter table script in one table and a SProc that queries that table in another tab, and when I execute my Alter Table script the changes are not reflected in Intellisense in the other tab.

SQL Server Intelli Sense is one of the smartest built-in tools to increase productivity while programming in SQL Server. Often, when we create new objects like tables, stored procedures, or triggers and try to use them instantly in another code, SQL Server Intelli Sense does not pick up those object names and their meta data quickly.
This causes the need to type the object names manually.
SQL Server also shows a red line under object names, though the created objects do exists in the database.
This happens because the SQL Server Intelli Sense Local cache does not get refreshed very often.

Click on Intelli Sense, and check Enable Intelli Sense, Underline errors, Outline statements. The most widely used tools are Red gate’s SQL Prompt and Devart’s SQL Complete.
Intelli Sense only supports SQL Server 2008 (2k8) and later editions. Though these are very costly, you can go for freeware Apex tools.
